The RotoTrack(TM) blaster is an awesome weapon. It can fire Type 1 and Type 2 darts with almost the exact same efficiency (Type 2 has about 5 feet less Maximum distance).

Nerf® has vastly improved their chains and the chain feeder now locks in place, securing the chain from jumping out of alignment during firing, ensuring 0% jam or failure rate. Older chains (the ones silver/gray in color) do have about a 10% failure to fire ratio, so the old chains aren't exactly compatible. However, from what the performance of this toy has with the new chains I would feel confident in saying go ahead and try a 25 chain if you can get enough new belts.

An AWESOME WEAPON indeed, the RotoTrack(TM) blaster is a vastly improved chain fed weapon and it will be a while before any can stand against it.

The only drawbacks are; The firing mechanism comes fixed to a hold the weapon in your left hand, pull with the right, which may be disadvantageous for some. Unfortunately, this can not be changed. Also, being made for little kids, the strap which holds it to your arm must be replaced with something else if you are an older kid like me. However, these minor setbacks are the only disadvantages to the toy.
