Pawtucket, RI -- There've been some big changes at Hasbro®.  The company, which is one of America's largest toy manufacturers, and the owner of OddzOn® and Larami®, its two Nerf®-brand producing subsidiaries, has announced poor sales for the year 2000.  The company, affected by the economic slump which many manufacturers have encountered after a slow holiday season, decided this past month to reorganize itself and prepare to recover profits during the year 2001. As a step toward this goal, Hasbro decided to close its OddzOn offices and relocate all of its assists in the Koosh Vortex™ and Nerf product lines to Larami Limited.

OddzOn, which had been recently purchased by Hasbro, acquired the rights to a majority of the Nerf product line early in the year 2000.  Nerf had previously been produced by Hasbro's Kenner®, Tonka®, and Parker Brothers® subsidiaries, all of which were independent companies during their initial production of the Nerf product line, but are now owned by Hasbro.

Larami is most noted for its Super Soaker™ line of water blasters, which have been in production for over fifteen years.  In addition, Larami produced its own line of foam-firing blasters, which later became incorporated in the Nerf SuperMAXX line of products.  The company is ready and willing to accept the responsibility of producing the entire Nerf product line now, and has many plans for the future of this well-known blasters and sport products.

"At this point, Larami Limited is taking over the complete Nerf and Vortex lines," said Susan Matsumoto, consulting outside services director for Larami.  "Known for being the makers of the Super Soaker water blasters, as well as the SuperMAXX line of Nerf blasters, Larami looks forward to maintaining the exciting track that Nerf has forged over the years."

With its expertise in producing both water and foam launchers, Larami promises to be a good leader of the future of Nerf.
